Casey Affleck has warned Jennifer Lopez to ‘prepare for real dysfunction’ amid her marriage to Ben Affleck

It’s fair to say that no other celebrity couple romance has garnered as much attention as that of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez.

The couple first met on the set of their movie Gigli in 2002, and began dating the following year. In fact, they became one of the biggest power couples of the 2000s and even got engaged before their eventual split in 2004.

Jen and Ben broke up fairly quickly, with Jennifer marrying singer Marc Anthony just five months after their split.

She and Marc share twins Emme and Maximilian, 14, but eventually separated in 2011.

Meanwhile, Ben married actress Jennifer Garner in 2005, and together they had three children: Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10.

They split in 2011, and a decade later he started dating J.Lo again — nearly 20 years after they broke up.

Jennifer first confirmed their rekindled romance in July 2021, and in April this year she revealed they were engaged again.

“Saturday night, while I was in my favorite place on earth (in the bubble bath), my beautiful love got down on her knees and proposed,” she told fans at the time. “It was the most romantic thing I could have imagined…Just a quiet Saturday night at home, two people promising to always be there for each other.”

The way JLo announced her engagement with “Dear Ben” playing in the background! i can’t 🥰

In July, Jen and Ben surprised the world when they spontaneously eloped in Las Vegas, enjoying an impromptu and intimate ceremony at the Little White Wedding Chapel.

Jen pointed out how low-key it all was in her newsletter, On the J.Lowhere she wrote, “Last night we flew to Vegas, lined up for a license with four other couples, all making the same trip to the wedding capital of the world.”

“So with the best witnesses you could imagine, a dress from an old movie and a jacket from Ben’s closet, we read our own vows in the little chapel and gave each other the rings we’ll wear for the rest of our lives,” she added.

At the time, a source told Us Weekly that the two had discussed eloping for a while because they had “both had big marriages before, so pageantry isn’t as important anymore. for them as it once was.”

But it later became clear that Ben and Jen still wanted to celebrate their love with loved ones, and they planned a much more extravagant second ceremony for those around them, which took place on Saturday.

Their 2022 celebration mirrored their original 2000s wedding plans, with accommodation at Ben’s sprawling $8.9 million mansion in Georgia — the same place they first wanted to get married.

According to People, Jen wore a white Ralph Lauren wedding dress, which had a flowing train and veil, to the nuptials. Meanwhile, Ben wore a tuxedo with a white jacket – and the couple threw tradition to the wind by inviting their guests to wear white too.

The ceremony was hosted by famed podcaster and life coach Jay Shetty, and all of Ben and Jen’s respective children attended the day, although it was reported that their ex-partners were not in attendance.

A source previously told People that the couple had “planned an amazing weekend of celebrations,” which included a “pre-wedding party, ceremony and lots of fun.”

The guest list included Ben’s best friend Matt Damon, director Kevin Smith and actor Jason Mewes. George Clooney, Jane Fonda, Renee Zellweger and Jimmy Kimmel were other stars who reportedly attended the lavish bash.

Notably absent was Ben’s younger brother, Casey Affleck, who was reportedly unable to join in the festivities due to “parental obligations”. The actor is the father of an 18-year-old son, Indiana, and Atticus, 14.

A source told People that Casey missed the fun “unfortunately due to family and parental obligations at home.”

However, Casey still took the time to welcome his new sister-in-law to the family with a sweet Instagram post, where he warned her to be prepared for “real dysfunction.”

Casey shared a paparazzi photo of himself, Ben and Jen that was taken in 2002, and referenced the couple’s unusual relationship timeline, writing, “Good things are worth the wait. “

“[Here’s] to twists and turns, to new beginnings and to finding new reservoirs of old love,” he continued. “Welcome to the family. Prepare for real dysfunction! Just kidding. Just kidding.”

He completed the touching note with: “Jen, you are a pearl. We love you so much!!!”
